Forticlient Remote VPN Connection
To connect to the new VPN software after you’ve had your Soft token assigned to your phone, follow the below steps:
- In your system tray (next to the system date and time), hit the up arrow next to it to show hidden icons
- In the hidden icons window, you will see a green checkmark in a shield icon (this is your VPN client). Right click on the icon to bring up the menu below
- Click on the option “Connect to Bethlehem” in that window. This will then launch the VPN client into the Remote Access window
- In the Remote Access window, the VPN name should state “Bethlehem”
- Enter your username as you would log into your computer regularly
- Once entered, the client will begin to process the connection. You will then get a push notification or “soft-token” pushed to your phone that the FortiToken Soft-token application is installed and configured
- You must then tap on or swipe the notification on the lock screen of your phone (if your phone is locked), and then unlock your phone.
If you swipe right to Open the notification, you will see the following sequence:
- Once your phone is unlocked it will open the notification in the application as shown below
- Click Approve, and it will then pass this information back to your computer to complete the sign in process.
- Alternatively, if you swipe left on the lock screen notification, you will see the following (Click on View):
Once either of these requests are sent, the VPN client on your laptop will receive the token automatically and then the application will minimize. If you reopen the system tray from step 1, you will see the following icon when the VPN is connected.
